...you make a good point comparing dating and finding housemates...

...on the silver-lining side of things, just think of this as good practice in dumping people...or maybe "letting them go" is better way to say it.

That is of course, unless you're already good at that sort of thing?

In this brave new world of hyperconnectivity, we're all an instant message away from nearly everyone we know or have ever met. We are assaulted daily with information and communications coming at us from all corners, and are simultaneously bombarded with new and allegedly better ways of accepting that information and sending & receiving those communications. Never before has there been so much information on every topic available to each of one us, and along with all the new modes of communication there's still only 60 minutes in an hour, and 24 hours in a day. It's impossible, and would be maddening, to try in one day to read every headline that caught your eye on the web, follow every string in a Google search, read and respond fully to every e-mail, text and phone call received, read all the hard copy of media that exists in physical form, and do all the real-world tasks like laundry, grocery shopping, exercising, singing and socializing - oh, and to perform your job duties while looking for a better job that pays the bills and debts better than the current one. All of the choices and obligations can be maddening. The only liberation comes from pausing - realizing that our world is becoming at once beautifully integrated and abundant, yet a potentially maddening bazaar from which we must step away and retreat to a quiet place.
