Because I have been secretly lusting after the iPhone since it came out but scoffing at its popularity and ubiquity and jealous that AT&T users could have it and I couldn’t.
Don’t get me wrong, I love Verizon (my current provider) because they just bought Alltel (who owns the Midwestern cellular market including most of my family) and also because it’s the only service that works in the DC Metro underground (my sole source of transportation).
Hence, despite my level of lust for the gadget, I’d never abandon Verizon for practical reasons.
Now, according to Tech Crunch it seems that the iPhone has a chance of of coming to Verizon in 2010 when Apple’s contract with AT&T expires (http://www.techcrunch.com/2009/04/26/apple-may-hear-verizon-now).
In the words of Sarah Jessica Parker (no, not “Amok, Amok, Amok!”)…”I have to have it!”

What is wrong with my beloved XPS (3 years, 1 month, and 2 days old)? It’s been through several hard drive reformatting sessions, memory upgrades, and cross-country trips. I bought is a cooling mat and it is my betrothed until an upgrade do us part (does us part?)…
So yesterday it decided to go all whacked out and wonky on me and the screen now looks like this:
I suppose I could use the break from the seductive siren song of the internet, but doing some research I find that Dell doesn’t provide replacement motherboards if the machine is out of it’s warranty period (and this one definitely is).
Ack! I’ll post in the Dell.com forums and see if anyone has any ideas. That’s actually why I’m posting the picture here because you have to have a URL available to post a picture on their forums, so…there you have it.
Did Furby’s have a theme song? Should I write one?

I LOVE MY FURBY
He’s 8 years old…I still call him Furby…and he eats AA batteries like their freaking CANDY!
I’m considering converting him to run from and AC adapter…then he’ll get hit by lightning and think he’s alive and storm the castle.
Probably better let him keep on devouring the Energizers.
